Nick Thayer is known in the industry as a “DJ’s DJ”. Hand-picked by Skrillex to join OWLSA whilst the label was still in its infancy, Thayer’s ‘Like Boom’ EP showcased his ability to draw disparate genres together seamlessly. He soon followed this up with the equally supercharged ‘Worlds Collide’ EP.
Thayer’s constantly smashing it out at global festivals like Shambhala, Creamfields, Stereosonic & HARD Summer. He’s also joined friends Zedd & Porter Robinson on the Poseidon tour as well as a full European tour with Skrillex and an Australian tour with Mat Zo. Gracing the finest venues in the world from Avalon in LA to Webster Hall in NYC, Fabric in London he’s also been awarded a long standing residency at the infamous Revolver in Melbourne. Thayer’s club sets are an aural feast, as energetic as they are versatile. Nick’s classical training and rock-band chops all shine along with impeccable production and a sparkling attention to detail. His skills as a producer are inherently sort after by the very best in the business.
2015 sees Nick taking his talent to a new level with the string of hit releases. So far this year every track from ‘Get Got’ to ‘The Stick Up’ has thrashed the Beatport Glitch Hop charts. Next up is the instant classic ‘Fly Shit’. A collaboration with Mötley Crüe wild child Tommy Lee that contains Mikill Pane’s grime laden vocal and is guaranteed to get your body moving.
“Nick is one of the most versatile producers I know … taking everything from house to drum and bass to moombahton and putting his own forward-thinking spin on it. Not genre bound, just music bound.”
“It’s really rare that when two people collaborate on a project that there’s a constant knowing of what each other is hearing or feeling!! Nick is that!! Working with Nick is always an honor, a challenge, and successful!….. Oh and really fucking loud!!“
– Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe)
